Batu Caves are one of the most beautiful and most popular caves from all over the world. It is a limestone hill that has a series of caves and cave temples. It is situated in the Gombak district, 13 kilometres (8 mi) north of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Gombak is a district located in the state of Selangor, Malaysia. It was created on February 1, 1974. Gombak is divided to 4 sub-district area: Batu, Rawang, Setapak and Ulu Kelang. Batu caves takes its name from the Sungai Batu or Batu River.

Batu caves are one of the most visited places in Malaysia. The limestone forming Batu Caves is 400 million years old. The Batu Caves temple consists of three main caves and a few smaller. It is contain a diverse range of cave fauna, such as Liphistiidae spiders and Eonycteris and fruit bats. This fauna is unique and you can see only there. The area is also well known for its numerous macaques, which visitors feed — sometimes involuntarily. Batu Caves is also one of the biggest rock climbing centers in Malaysia and is offers about 160 climbing routes.

The world’s tallest statue of Murugan, a Hindu deity, is located outside Batu Caves, near the city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The height of the statue is 42.7 m (140 ft). Total price of the statue is 24 million rupees.
