We are talking about a national park which got its name by the river Krka, part of that wonderful fairy tale of nature. National Park is located in central Dalmatia, situated only a couple of kilometers from the city of Sibenik. National Park is a spacious, largely unchanged region of exceptional and multifaceted natural value, and includes one or more preserved or slightly modified ecosystems. It is intended primarily for scientific, cultural, educational, recreational, and due to visit, it is also targeted for tourist activities. Krka was declared a national park in 1985 and is the seventh national park in Croatia. It is famous for the huge number of lakes and waterfalls.

At the Park is also located Orthodox Monastery Krka founded in 1345 by the sister of Emperor Dusan. The monastery was the most important spiritual and cultural center of Orthodoxy in Dalmatia. Therefore this park is one of the most visited places by scientists and curious tourists who want to enjoy the magical blend of natural water beauty and clean air. It is important to mention that flora and fauna of the Krka National Park is extremely rich and diverse, with a large number of endemic and endangered species. The territory of the national park is located around 40 mysterious caves and their spectacular creations are the major tourist attraction.
