Curacao is an island in the southern Caribbean Sea, off the Venezuelan coast. The island of Curacao, with small uninhabited island Small Curacao, make up the Country of Curacao, which is a constitutional state under the Netherlands. The capital city is Willemstad. it has an estimated population of 150,000 inhabitants.The city centre, with its unique architecture and harbour entry, has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Also Willemstad is major economical, political and tourist places.
Curacao is the largest and most populous island of the three islands of the former Netherlands Antilles, islands often called ABC. The total area of it equals 444 square kilometers, home to about 141,766 residents. Until the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles, the island was known as Ile Territory of Curacao.
