Handy is the new smartphone solution for overseas travellers and has arrived at The Montcalm London Marble Arch hotel.

It’s an increasingly common problem for overseas business and leisure travellers – they get to their destination and attempt to use their smartphone, either with the expectation it should work in a different country or not, only to discover that the network service is non-existent or too patchy to be useable. Now, however, an enterprising company has come up with a smart solution, one that’s so smart, in fact, it’s surprising it’s taken so long for it to be dreamt up and realised.

Developed and rolled out by Tink Labs, the Handy smartphone is a service available to hotel visitors so they can stay connected, ensuring they’re able to make both local and international calls and access the Internet via 3G data. Already a success in South East Asia, Handy smartphones are now available in Europe, specifically for those staying at The Montcalm hotel Marble Arch in London, as a free-of-charge addition to their package for the duration of their stay. It’s planned for the service to follow shortly at the other properties in the UK capital-based Montcalm group.

Each smartphone is loaded with more than 200 features, such as constantly updated travel details, interactive maps and a one-touch reservation service for major restaurants and attractions in the UK capital. Moreover, users will be reassured by the fact that all the personal information and browsing history on their phone will be erased as soon as they check-out from the hotel.
