Huanglong is a scenic area in the northwest part of Sichuan, China. This Scenic area is situated in the southern part of the Minshan mountain range at a distance of 150 km north-northwest of the capital Chengdu. For the tourists Huanglong is famous for its wonderful colorful pools formed by calcite deposits, diverse forest ecosystems, snow-capped peaks, awesome waterfalls and breathtaking hot springs. Also there tourists can see several rare species of animals such as: Giant Panda and the Sichuan Golden Snub-nosed Monkey. In 1992 Huanglong was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

During the the annual period of geological evolution Huanglong consists of numerous unique landscapes of geological landforms. These gorgeous travertine landscape incurred by the glacial revolution, terrane structure, stratum of carbonic acid rock, tufa water and climatic conditions. The total area of Huanglong 1830 sq km.

Major scenic areas in Huanglong National Park include: Huanglong Valley, Danyun Gorge, Xuebaoding (Snow Mountain Peak) – 5588m, Xueshan Ridge (Snow Mountain Ridge) – 4007m, Red Star Rock and Sigou (Fourth Gully).
