Colourful decorations and spectacular lights brighten the world and spread the magic around the world. Many unique buildings popping up everywhere and contribute to admiration. We are not aware that exist some places which are unique and unusual. What hides behind walled houses and neighbourhoods know only those who live there. Because of that we have selected destination that applies to some of the strangest places worldwide.
There what nature has made, man has used. Despite being isolated, tourists from everywhere regularly visit Kandovan, known like one of the most unusual villages in the world.

Kandovan village is hidden in the northwest Iran. It is located near Tabriz, in the province of East Azarbayjan. At that place, walking above mountains you will note the strangest houses. Kandovan village is not only known for its beauty, but also because of the specific style of construction of homes. Many of the houses in Kandovan village are made in caves, located in conical rocks made of layers of volcanic ash. Over time people have extended their homes. Now they usually have two floors where you can found living rooms, basement storage rooms and place for livestock. These structures are the best energy-efficient in the country, because the stone is an excellent insulator that provides good heat during the long and cold winter.

Also, homes are constantly cold in the summer. Despite the stone materials, little houses have glass windows and access to electricity. Located 2300 meters above the sea, Kandovan village has existed for more than 700 years. Kandovan village also have a small spring which is believed to have healing miracles. Poor people six warmer months are engaged in cultivation of fruits and vegetables, while in the colder days they dealing with weaving rugs and production of various items that can be sold to tourists.
