Spotted Lake - Unusual, But Natural Phenomenon

The world is beautiful because it is diverse and it can find something for every taste. Surely you are already bored of sun and golden beaches. Feed your eyes with something new, something that will surprise and delight. It is known long ago that there are all sorts of natural phenomena. But, do you ever think about a lake full of spots?

Spotted Lake recently almost ended as a spa resort, but the descendants of the natives managed to persuade the owners to save from commercialization. Today is denied access to the lake, so it is not allowed to get closer. However, if you ever decided to go to Canada do not despair, because the view of the lake from the road still remains fantastic. It is something so unusual and beautiful at the same time.

Near the city Osoyoos, the Canadian province of British Columbia, is located Spotted Lake which is visited by tourists from around the world. That unusual appearance is a result of high concentration of various minerals such as magnesium sulfate, calcium, sodium sulfate, silver and titanium. Most of the water evaporates in the summer from the lake and then it gets a pinhole view as a consequence of the piles of mineral salt. The composition of minerals depends on the color of the lake which can be yellow, green or white.

Indigenous people considered this Spotted Lake as a sacred place, and obviously there is something in that, because the water from the lake has a healing potential. According to legend, when two warring Indian tribes, agreed a truce, they put their wounded people with belief that it will cure. A hundred years ago people draws minerals for production of munitions and then from the lake was possible to extract one tone of salt per day.
