1. Vík í Mýrdal, Iceland

Vík í Mýrdal is the name of the village which is located on the southern part of Iceland. It is best known for its beautiful black beach. Although the village counted only 291 inhabitants it still is one of the largest settlements because the houses are quite distant from each other. This beach is better known as Vic or Black Beach and in 1991 was placed in the category of top 10 most beautiful beaches in the world.

2. Pavones, Costa Rica

Black beach of Pavones is considered as one of the most beautiful beaches on the Pacific coast. Bright color of the sea and the greenery which surrounds the beach create a natural contrast. In fact, the beach is surrounded with the numerous natural beauties, from deserts, to rivers with crystal clear water that rises through hill and flows into the sea. Pavones attracts many surfers and romantics souls who want to see “one of the most spectacular sunsets in the world.”

It is a region which is currently the least developed part of California. The beach swimming is allowed, but visitors are quite rare, so it seems that California Lost Beach is interesting only to adventurers and lovers of unusual locations for shooting.
